2014 is proving to be a very diligent and successful year for us!

Our foremost mission of acquiring forest land to place into sanctuary status has been accomplished. We purchased the GREENLINK corridor now formally known as the Albert Cattalini Conservancy, and connected two existing sanctuaries, Ravens' Call and Enchanted Meadow Wetlands Sanctuary on May 27, 2014.

We have recently dismissed the lawsuit Louisiana Pacific vs FOEM, dating back to 1992. The Mendocino Redwood Company purchased LP timber lands in 1998, and was obliged to fulfill the
1997 Settlement Agreement signed between LP and FOEM.
MRC honored the S.A. by the sale and transfer of the ACC to FOEM. In June 2014 we began working with other community members to protect a small pocket of residual old growth adjacent to the Little River airport.

AWE-SOME, an anacronym, for Airport Wooded Ecosystem - Save Oldgrowth Make Everlasting is a campaign to protect oldgrowth habitat and create a public recreation trail. An online petition promotes this idea and gathers public support. We need one thousand names to impress upon the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors that this is an important ecological issue. There has been debate as to whether these trees are old growth. These trees were alive in 1852 when JB Ford came by oxen team to start a saw mill. Isn't that old enough to save? Forests of this age are endangered ecosystems on our planet and need total protection. YOU CAN SIGN HERE by clicking.

Remembrance Tree drawing was held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Raven's Call. All contributors were notified and invited to the ceremony, and several contributors were in attendance. Winner of the Remembrance Tree is Linda Bauccio of San Francisco and Little River.

Each contribution of $25. was considered one chance in the Remembrance Tree Drawing. Our winner will select a living tree in Ravens' Call that will be dedicated to a person or event of her choice.

Another endeavor will be held in the future for our friends who donated to the Albert Cattalini Conservancy prior to 2011. Stay tuned, you will be notified of our new event where you can be the winner.

We are currently working with the planning department, and Elizabeth's Trail is completly flagged. We are looking forward to completion in 2015.
